Privacy policy

The purpose of this privacy policy is to inform you about the processing of your personal data, including their use.

2. What do we do?

WESS Mobility offers a broad range of services to its clients:
it is an official dealer of Dongfeng (including Dongfeng, Forthing, Voyah, M-Hero) in the Baltic States, selling and maintaining new and used cars through a network of dealerships in the Baltic States;

3. What information do we collect and what for?

In order to provide the services you need, and to ensure their quality, the company collects and processes a certain scope of personal data necessary for that purpose (e.g. name and surname, personal identity number, address, phone number, e-mail address, information about your vehicle, website visit data).

We use your personal data to, for example:

• identify you;
• reply to your questions, suggestions, and complaints;
• improve our services and discover your opinions of our products/services (e.g. through questionnaires and surveys);
• tell you about our new products and services through the method of communication of your choice;
• promote the visibility of our company;
• provide finance lease services;
• prepare, conclude, and perform contracts;
• manage payments and enforce contractual obligations/collect debts;
• fulfil warranty obligations;
• conduct statistical and business analysis;
• maintain and develop our website;
• protect our property and prevent illegal activities (video surveillance).

Collection of personal data may take place:

• when you fill in a contact form on our website to contact us;
• when you communicate with our staff directly: in person, by phone (the call may be recorded), or electronically;
• when you give your consent to receiving our news;
• when you apply for test drives;
• when you fill in a questionnaire, a survey, or take part in a contest;
• when cookies are used;
• when you apply for a car rental service, a finance lease, etc.;
• when you make purchases and place orders;
• when you take part in our events where we film and take photographs;
• when you are on our premises that are equipped with video surveillance.

4. Legal grounds for personal data processing

We only process your personal data if there are sufficient legal grounds to do so, for example:

• Data subject consent — we tell you about our news based on your written consent.
• Conclusion and fulfilment of a contract — your personal data is necessary for the conclusion and fulfilment of a contract (for example, when ordering vehicle services).
• Fulfilment of legal duties — in some situations, the processing of personal data is necessary to comply with applicable legal regulations (law, cabinet regulation etc.).
• Legitimate interest — Our legitimate interests can encompass protecting our property and the property of our clients, which involve video surveillance on our grounds and premises, of which you will be informed by signs; taking legal action to protect our interests; ensuring the efficiency of our management processes; conducting business activities that involve third parties; informing the public about our activities and promoting our services, etc.

5. Do we hand your personal data over to third parties?

Your data is secure and is not sold or otherwise transferred to third parties in any inappropriate manner. Your personal data may be handed over to Dongfeng’s importer, SIA WESS Mobility. In providing certain services, such as sending of advertising messages, processing of orders, or delivering of goods, your personal data may be handed over to our partners (data processors) to perform the necessary processing on our behalf.

In accordance with the legislation that governs the protection of personal data, your personal data may be handed over to the companies of WESS Group:

We will not send your personal data to any third countries (outside the European Union or the European Economic Area).

6. Retention period

Your personal data is stored until the purpose of the processing is achieved. If the processing takes place based on your consent, your personal data is processed for as long as this consent is still in effect and is not revoked, or to the extent that laws and regulations require us to process and/or store such data.

7. Security

We store your personal data using the technical and organisational measures that meet modern requirements. Our security measures are constantly updated using the latest technology.

8. What are your rights?

You have all the rights of a data subject provided by the General Data Protection Regulation and laws of the Republic of Latvia. These include, without limitation, the following rights:

• the right to access you personal data and to get information about how these data are processed;
• the right to request corrections in false, inaccurate, or incomplete personal data;
• the right to be forgotten (you have the right to the deletion of your personal data, preventing any further processing of the data, provided that this data is not anymore necessary for the purposes, for which it was collected, or if you retract your consent. However, the right to be forgotten is not absolute, and it may not be enforced in situations when we are legally bound to process (and store) this data, or if such processing is necessary for us to protect our legitimate interests);
• the right to limit processing;
• the right to transfer data (the right to receive your own personal data provided to the data controller in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and the right to transfer said data to another controller);
• the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing (including profiling), which result in legal consequences for you, or significantly affect you in a similar manner;
• You may also revoke your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. Such revocation of consent does not affect the legality of any prior personal data processing carried out while the consent in question was still in effect. With respect to receiving advertising messages, you may refuse to receive them at any time, by using the automated option to do so provided at the end of the corresponding e-mail messages, or sending an e-mail request to cease communication to info@wessmobility.lv.
• the right to appeal to the Data State Inspectorate.

In order to enforce your right to access your personal data and receive information about the processing of this data (data subject request), you may submit a request for the enforcement of your rights:

• in writing personally at our office at Kārļa Ulmaņa gatve 123, Mārupe, Mārupe Municipality, producing a personal identification document (passport or ID card);
• online using a secure electronic signature.

Having received a data subject request, we must confirm your identity in order to ensure the security of the personal data, and guarantee that the personal data is not disclosed to unauthorised parties, because of which any information requests that are not formalised in accordance with the requirements specified (e.g. without a secure electronic signature) are not processed as data subject requests.

9. Cookies

In order to improve the user experience our website provides and to analyse information about how you use our website, for example what sections are most interesting to you, we use cookies, which are small text files that store certain information about the user’s device. You can choose to accept the use of cookies or to disable them in your browser settings. Please note, however, that if you disable cookies, you may not be able to use all the interactive features provided.

Functional cookies

The website uses functional cookies to remember settings and choices, so that it is easier for you to use the website in the future. These cookies are saved on your device, either permanently or temporarily.

Analytics cookies gather information about how you use the website, recording the most visited sections, and the content you prefer as you browse the website.
